Impellers

Corrosion-Resistant Rotating Components for Fluid Handling Systems :

Impellers are critical rotating components used in pumps, blowers, agitators, and circulation systems to move fluids or gases efficiently. In corrosive or chemically aggressive environments, thermoplastic and composite impellers provide a reliable alternative to metal impellers, which are prone to corrosion, scaling, and premature failure.

Manufactured from corrosion-resistant thermoplastic and composite materials, these impellers are designed to deliver stable performance, balanced rotation, and long service life in continuous-duty applications.

Material Options & Operating Temperature Ranges :

Impellers are fabricated using materials selected based on fluid chemistry, operating temperature, rotational speed, and mechanical load.

  • PP (Polypropylene Copolymer) : Used for general-purpose fluid handling with mildly corrosive media. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures up to 80–90°C.

  • PPH (Polypropylene Homopolymer) : Offers higher rigidity and improved chemical resistance. Commonly used in chemical process pumps operating up to 90–100°C.

  • PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) : Preferred for highly corrosive chemicals and aggressive fluids. Provides excellent chemical resistance with stable performance up to 120–150°C, depending on design.

  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) : Used for low-pressure and abrasion-prone applications. Suitable for ambient temperature operation up to 60–70°C.

  • PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) : Applied in low-temperature chemical handling systems. Performs reliably up to 60°C.

  • FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) : Provides higher mechanical strength and stiffness. Suitable for ambient to moderate temperatures, depending on resin system.

  • PP–FRP Lined Construction : Combines chemical resistance of polypropylene with added structural strength from FRP. Used for medium-duty impellers handling corrosive fluids.

  • HDPE–FRP Lined Construction : Offers abrasion resistance with improved rigidity. Suitable for ambient temperature service.

  • MS–FRP Lined Construction : Used where higher mechanical strength is required. Mild steel provides core strength, while FRP lining protects against corrosion in ambient service conditions.
